Safety Sense

This system is known as Toyota Safety Sense (TSS). We can proudly say that it comes as a standard feature on new Toyotas’. TSS is a bundle of safety features that actively work for your safety. These innovative programs were designed to protect you and your passengers from harm while you are on the road. We can name a couple of them right now.
The first one to note is the Pre-Collision System With Pedestrian Detection. While using an in-automobile camera and a radar sensor, the automobile will detect a vehicle or a pedestrian in front of you. The Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD) will mitigate or avoid a potential collision before you need to make a move. If it determines that a frontal collision is likely, it will give you the warning to take action using both audio and visual alerts. Brake Assist is a handy mechanical feature that PCS w/PD will apply if there is a potential collision, even if you are already on the brake pedal. If you happen to not brake in time, it can automatically apply the brakes, which helps to minimize the likelihood of a collision or reduce the severity.
This second Safety Sense feature is one that will help with your cruise control. Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) is intended for highway use. It is similar to the typical “constant speed” cruise control in the way that you can drive at a preset speed. The massive difference is that it uses vehicle-to-vehicle distance control. Simply put, it will maintain a preset distance from the vehicle ahead of you. That requires a radar and camera that the average cruise control doesn’t use.
