Did you know that every April is Earth Month? This year Toyota is really getting into the spirit of conservation by joining with the Wyland Foundation to encourage all U.S. citizens to protect our natural resources by taking a pledge online to conserve water. The pledge honors the 40-year anniversary of the Clean Water Act and helps to further support the National Mayor's Challenge for Water Conservation, which runs from March 30-April 30 and challenges mayors across the country to encourage everyone to take the clean water pledge. You can sign the pledge today by visiting (www.mywaterpledge.com).
Participants won't only be left with a good feeling after signing the pledge; participants in the city with the most registrations will be eligible to win several prizes, including the stylish new 2012 Toyota Prius c, which achieves an EPA-estimated 53 mpg in city driving.
Michael Rouse, Vice President of Philanthropy and Community Affairs for the U.S. branch of Toyota, explains the partnership and its initiative, stating, "Both Toyota and the Wyland Foundation are passionate about educating and inspiring people of all ages about the importance of environmental stewardship. We hope that the possibility of winning a new Prius c Hybrid vehicle will motivate even more people to get involved."1 The two companies will also sponsor Earth Month Heroes, a Southern California program that recognizes 30 hard-working citizens dedicated to sustainability.
Have you taken the pledge yet, reader? There's still time! And, if you're more interested in checking out the Prius c yourself instead of leaving a big win up to chance, be sure to stop by.
