Toyota has yet another new hybrid concept on the horizon- the NS4. Though the Toyota Prius family is slated to gain another hybrid member in spring with the Prius Plug-In hybrid, it seems the brand's hybrid offerings could further expand in 2012 with the NS4.
In December 2011, Toyota released a teaser photo of the NS4 which showcased the vehicle's slanted headlight upon a red-bodied vehicle. A new video, released a few days ago, further teases fans with shots of the pre-production clay model hood, which appears sporty and sleek. Technology aspects of the vehicle were touted (as was its design process), but a real body shot wasn't revealed. That will be left for the vehicle's debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, which is a week away.
Details surrounding the NS4 are still very foggy, but Heart City Toyota has heard talk that the vehicle might feature the same powertrain as the Prius Plug-In, though we don't think that the NS4 will join the Prius family. If it does join the family, it would likely be a sporty hybrid, perhaps even a coupe model. Either way, we'll know soon when we see more of the NS4 in Detroit.
Stay tuned here with Heart City Toyota for more updates as they become available. In the meantime, why not test drive one of the current Prius family members?
